Great Lakes Cafe

This diner is an absolute gem, nestled behind a steel mill. After flying into Chicago we were driving to Indiana and stopped here for lunch. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and patient when we had questions about the menu, and the owner came to our table and chatted with us and our two little boys. The food was absolutely delicious (we had omelettes with home fries) and everyone we interacted with was so friendly. As a parting gift, the owner let our kids each choose a candy bar for the road. Next time we are in Indiana we will be stopping here again.
