Holiday Inn Express & Suites Crawfordsville

Holiday Inn Express is normally pretty good. This one needs work. The front desk staff when we got there were not friendly or welcoming at all, they looked completely miserable. We got a room on the second floor and people were living in the two rooms across from us. They kept leaving their door open and you could see garbage bags filled with stuff. They kept going between the two rooms yelling at each other, pounding on the doors and yelling, wandering the halls, etc. The rooms and doors are not sound proof at all! We shared a wall with the stairway and you could hear everytime someone walked up and down and their conversation. Could consistently hear the people across the hall and the TV in the room next to us. My boyfriend likes to bring black lights to hotels and let me tell you, I really wish he hasn't shined it in the bathroom. It was nauseating all over the all behind the toilet, the floor in front and the toilet itself. Few spots on the bed too. GROSS! The hallways and elevators both had a very strong odor as well. The mattress wasn't very comfortable at all. On the plus side, the coffee was good, breakfast was well kept up and staffed, house keeping was very polite, and the pillows were nice. I don't travel all the often have have been in probably 8 over the last year for various weddings & trips and this hotel is in the bottom 2 for sure. IHG hotels are supposed to have a higher standard and this location certainly didn't live up to their reputation.
