I attended this church as a child in the 70's. Pastor Vangorp was the pastor then Pastor Denzil Mauk. I see faces once in awhile of that original congregation at funerals unfortuneatly but what's even sad is that I feel I'm being judged and or stereotyped by those people. I won't mention names and they are not the pastors mention but I will say they are probably decons or on the board. They were very unfriendly so my point is maybe churches don't grow because the congregation doesn't allow it too. It's not about them or us it's about the worshipping of God the Father, the son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. It's the assembly of believers that serve the same purpose. Spread the gospel and grow independently. I cherrished those younger days and got saved and baptised there. Brother Mr Conley, sunday school teacher led me to the lord at 12 yrs of age. One thing I lacked was disciplin and obedience growing up but with time and conviction overcame many strongholds. Although doctrine preaching church maybe a little more old fashion preaching of the word as it is without tickling the ear. Feed the congregation what it needs not what it wants. God will do the rest. I met my wife at that church and still married as of 38 yrs. My memories will never leave me of that church because I was reborn into the family of God there. Thank you Lord for the good church of Bethel Bible.
