VCA Shadeland Animal Hospital

I took my new puppy in a few weeks ago for a wellness visit and for vaccinations. I had serious inquiries about the lepto shot and was basically told I was not a professional and was shut down. I was very put off by the "bed side manner" of our vet. She was an older woman and just did not seem too interested in the "loving animals" aspect of the job. She was more robotic about everything. I had a lot of questions being a new puppy owner and got very few qualified answers besides the fact that she worked at a shelter for a gazillion years prior. When I was ready to check out a man named Dean was sitting at the desk and was very surly. Without taking his eyes off of the computer he rattled off my total without my free office discount. I told him I had given the other staff a coupon for free office visit and without as much as a smile or acknowledgment he said "Well I do not have it". I explained that I had handed it to another girl and he then yelled across the office to another staff member trying to locate the coupon. Would it have killed him to get up out of his chair to go locate the coupon? I was not thanked by him for my business. I was not asked about setting up a follow up appointment for boosters as recommended by vet which I am sure was noted in my chart. I had to prompt him to set that appointment which I have since canceled. I work hard for my money and have a choice where to spend it. I choose to spend it at a vet's office where I am treated kindly and thanked for my patronage!!
